If I close my eyes and think of Florence, I see a sprawling city in a sweltering valley; narrow, dusty alleys that lead to sun drenched piazzas; terra cotta, lime stone and marble reaching high into the sky; gelato, vino; and museums full of sculptures and iconic art. Yes, Florence was just how we remembered it…with less heat and more breaks, and less art and more gelato. So, as usual, a somewhat familiar place felt completely different with our pint-sized art critics and gelato connoisseurs.
I’m pretty sure they will remember Florence as the place with giant doors, where we had gelato three times in one day.

Oh, and Florence will also be remembered by the funny little masks we brought home, which add just the right amount of creepy to an otherwise cute doll wrapped in a sock.
