It is difficult for mothers to express the amount of joy that their kids have brought into their lives. I don’t think I could put in words, how much these little people mean to me. The best I can do is repeat what I often tell them: I love them to infinity and back again.
I have the the most wonderful kids for me. I also have the most wonderful mother. So, how do I live up to that? I guess I can aspire to be at least half the mother she has been and that would still be pretty good. If my kids love me and look up to me as much as I do to my mom, then I will be beyond blessed.
I am currently surrounded by boxes, garage sale items and other unfinished messes in the house, but going through these pictures tonight has made me extremely happy. I feel ever-so grateful to have spent this Mother’s Day with some of my favorite people…on both sides of our family.
First, brunch at Salty’s on Alki with the Knights…

And the following day, at Broadmoor Country Club with the Haakensons…
