Matea asked if we could spend all of next summer in the UK. When I asked her why, she said “because we have family there”. I love how this girl appreciates family…especially her cousins. Cousins are special…like extended siblings, there is an immediate bond. Some of my very special cousins live in Surrey. We stayed there for a couple of nights, giving us time to catch up, allowing our kids to play together and making for easy transit into London.
In London, I allowed the girls to dictate the schedule. They opted for sites instead of kid’s museums, mostly walking instead of the tube, and a pub lunch instead of on-the-go sandwiches. First off…Buckingham Palace, then a stroll through St. James Park, lunch near Tower Bridge and a cookie in Hyde Park before finishing off with a double-decker bus back to Victoria station. While Brett was off on a bit of business, it was just me and the girls. We had a fabulous time – and I dare say, these girls are getting to be pretty good tourists.
